Big goofy puppy that needs to learn some manners, very lovable, everyone is his friend
Legend is a big strong puppy – did I mention that he is a big, strong puppy. Weighing in at 85 pounds, Legend is still growing.
Legend is all puppy, loves everyone and is good with other dogs. When being dropped off at the kennel, Legend met another GSD who he was dying to play with. He was a little overwhelming with his strategy to play and this may be a bit too much for some dogs. Still, he will get some time in doggy day care where he can learn proper play etiquette. Legend loves toys and will carry them around in his mouth but will release when asked.
Legend who already has some size to him will need a strong handler, someone who is experienced with the breed, someone who wants a large dog and someone who will commit to taking him to training.
Legend is a level 3 puppy and is living in a foster home in Portola Valley. During his first training session, Legend did awesome. He had a remarkable attention span for such a young dog, tried to learn new commands and then of course did a few puppy like things to make us all smile. Still, with continued training, Legend is going to make someone a great companion dog and really great for someone who likes a large dog with a heart of gold.
Legend’s foster mom says that Legend is a calm, smart, secure, happy, affectionate pup. He brings a smile to everyone’s face, makes friends with everyone he meets, and brings a lot of joy to our house. He greets people with a wagging tail and he leans in against the legs of anyone who will pet him. When a few strangers walked in the back door unannounced, he alarm-barked a few times; when I corrected him and welcomed them, he quickly turned into a loving, sweet pup who just wanted affection from the strangers.
He walks well on leash and gets along very well with other dogs. He is very playful, loves to chase balls and to rough-house with his people and other dogs. He has good manners, knows the basic commands and seems eager to learn, and responds quickly to correction. He jumps in the back of the car and settles down immediately for the ride. He is crate-trained and will go in and settle down. He sleeps through the night in the crate without a whine.
Legend is a dream dog!
