Chloe Rose is a 7-month old female black & tan German Shepherd puppy that was picked up as a stray by Monterey County Animal Services.

While Chloe is very shy, her main theme in life is to hug her humans; she will jump up on you, lean in, and not want to let go. We are working on correcting her jumping behavior in a positive manner. She is quite nervous when walking on leash, but is beginning to relax, knowing no harm will come to her.

After arriving in her foster home, she was introduced to the resident male dogs, and did fine, but is still a little stressed with all the recent changes. She will need more exposure to all things in life, including other animals. When alone, she finds happiness in running around the yard, playing with her human. Once inside, she will cuddle with you if allowed on the furniture.

Chole has done well being crated, and sleeps all night with no issues. She has not shown any interest in toys, but we suspect this will change as she get comfortable in her new surroundings.

Chloe will be provided all the care needed to help her heal, and will need a committed, experienced adopter who can provide her lots of TLC and guidance.

Chloe is new to our program, so we will post additional information once we come to know her better.

It will be necessary for an adopter to have experience in raising a GSD or other large working breed puppy, as well as begin an obedience course based upon positive re-enforcement to help Chloe become a well-behaved canine citizen.

Chloe is a Level 3 puppy being fostered in the Santa Cruz mountains.
