Kelli Rae is a 7-month old female black & tan German Shepherd puppy that was picked up as a stray by Monterey County Animal Services.

Kelli was very shy and a bit scared upon first meeting her; however, after spending a few days in her foster home, she is beginning to de-stress. She has met the resident male dogs and has done well. She also met another female youngster, and found it was a lot of fun to run and play chase.

Kelli is learning about crates, and now sleeps all night with no issues. She also road home from the shelter (crated) and did not make a peep. She has not shown any interest in toys, but we suspect this will change as she gets comfortable in her new surroundings. She also loves to cuddle with you on the couch if allowed.

She is a very sweet pup, who will need a committed, experienced adopter who can provide her lots of TLC and proper guidance. She will need more exposure to all things in life, including people and other animals.

Kelli Rae is new to our program, so we will post additional information once we come to know her better.

It will be necessary for an adopter to have experience in raising a GSD or other large working breed puppy, as well as begin an obedience course based upon positive re-enforcement. to help Kelli Rae become a well-behaved canine citizen.

Kelli Rae is a Level 3 puppy being fostered in the Santa Cruz mountains.
