Husband (teased dog upon arrival in home, per wife) not a dog person and not bonding with dog or following advice from RDM and trainers to enhance bonding (may have even been abusive). Dog has become fearful and reactive toward husband. No issues with kids or wife, or other men. Adopter changed to DNA.

Reddick is super friendly with everyone he meets and freely gives away kisses. He is living in a foster home that includes a female GSD, two cats and teenagers. Because of foster holiday travel plans, we have had to move Reddick around a bit and he has adjusted to each setting within a couple days. He has spent time with a working line male GSD and a senior female, and a couple of cats as well as with a toy breed and pre-teen kids that he adored. This is a great dog who prefers cuddling and companionship to rough and tumble play.

Reddick is super crate trained, housebroken, and knows basic on and off-leash commands that include sit, heel, down, come front and stay. He has excellent recall to front, even from long distances. He has generally good house manners and often chooses his open crate to hang out in.

Reddick is affectionate and playful, and enjoys daily walks, jogs and outings. He is starting to realize the joy of playing with toys. He submissively plays well with other dogs as he gets to know them and enjoys zooming as the one being chased; he would likely play nicely in a dog park setting.

Reddick can be a bit animated when first exiting the crate, leashing up or greeting his person when he hasn’t seen them in a while, but he does go into sit to calm when directed to do so. He sometimes pulls on leash and initially happy barks on walks when not at heel so ongoing training in these areas will be fun and beneficial.

Reddick prefers being inside the house in the comfort of his crate to being out in the yard alone where he becomes vocal when his people are away. He is totally okay being alone when inside.

Reddick is a Level 3 currently being fostered in Elk Grove.
