Maverick was picked up by San Francisco Animal Control in Golden Gate Park as a stray. The shelter staff contacted us when they realized that Maverick was not doing well in the shelter environment. When we evaluated Maverick we found him to be a happy, excitable puppy, not food or toy aggressive and good with other dogs.
Maverick is now in a foster home in Portola Valley living with two children. Maverick’s foster mom saids that Maverick is a very affectionate, happy, dog friendly, people friendly pup. He has been very calm, loves to snuggle, gets along with all people and most dogs. He’s a real love. Loves to sleep most of the time when the kids are gone–next to his foster mom’s desk. He wakes up in the middle of the night for a potty break, then goes back into his crate without complaint. Maverick is still working on being completely potty trained. He is 85% of the way there.
Maverick is a level 3 dog who will need an adopter to commit to taking him to a basic obedience course.
