Suria was picked up as a stray in the Sacramento area on New Year’s Eve. She has lived compatibly with other GSDs and is a great companion dog currently living in a foster home with a single foster mom and no other pets.

Suria is very loving and affectionate. She is working on basic commands and house manners. She is very treat and praise motivated, responds well to correction and wants to please her person. She is housebroken, crate trained and rides quietly in the car. Since coming into Rescue she has developed an interest in playing with balls and toys, and she can be trusted freely in the house when her people are away.

Suria is a great daily walking, hiking, jogging buddy. She is good on leash although she occasionally yelps from afar when she first sees an unfamiliar dog, but she easily redirects through the confidence of her handler and gentle correction, and then meets them appropriately.

Suria has lived compatibly with three GSDs that she enjoyed playing and hanging out with but she is also content as the only dog in the home and enjoys encounters with the neighborhood dogs for her doggie companion fix. She is much too interested in chasing cats to live with one.

Suria is a Level 3 being fostered in Davis.
