OTC Stray. Came in smelling of marijuana on coat.

Samori is a 3-month old pup who came to us as a stray from Sacramento City Shelter when she was barely 6-weeks old. She is outgoing, social with people and dogs, and extremely adaptable to new settings and different situations.

Samori is petite but confident. She loves playing with other dogs and toys. She likes being out and about with her people but is also quite content spending time alone. She has a very stable temperament, even around things like loud lawnmowers, vacuums and leaf blowers.

Samori is housebroken and crate trained, and has generally good house manners for a puppy her age. She sits with focused eye contact, especially for meals and treats, and she is working on leash walking and is even receiving some exposure to scent work.

Samori has absorbed valuable mentoring and socialization in shared foster homes that have included other dogs of various breeds (male/female, adults/pups), cats, chickens and young adults. She is currently living in a home that includes a mature female retriever that she idolizes and a playful, 1-year old male Lab that she romps with. She may prefer having a canine companion in her forever home, (or routine play time with others) if given the choice.

Those interested in adopting Samori must have experience raising a GSD, or other working breeds, and be puppy approved by their adoption counselor. Commitment to ongoing socialization and exposure to all that life has to offer is a must.

Samori is a Level 3 being fostered in Dixon.
